Our own little city

A little while back I came across Alisa Burke. I immediately fell in love with her work and her love for making beautiful art out of recycled things.  She has inspired me to look at everything I throw out differently and it has been a fun journey seeing what I can make out of things we would have normally gotten rid of. For the past couple of weeks we have been saving food boxes so we can make a recycled city scape. I am so excited to get started on this project with the little ones and I have the perfect place to display it when it's all done!

All of our boxes....

Once I am done with this semester of school (only a few more weeks!! YAY!) I will be taking the summer off and plan on doing a few more of Alisa's tutorials she has posted on her blog. This lady is seriously amazing! If you haven't checked her out you really should!

Check back early next week for our finished city!!

Fun!!! I can't wait to see yours! I've been saving stuff like this too. I was planning on making a city for little hot wheels to race thru. I can't remember where I saw it tho.
Have a great day!

How cool!! I love being able to make things people would tend to throw out. I can't wait to see the project. You could even use Christmas lights (the ones that don't give off heat) inside the box.
